I have been thinking a lot lately about how I handle stress in my life. Some days I do really well and others not so much. There are 4 steps that definitely have helped me over the past few months and I share them today in hopes that they can help you on days when you feel overwhelmed.
- Silence your thoughts through prayer or meditation. We have answers but often we cannot find them because the noise in our heads drowns them out.
- Practice gratitude by thinking of all the blessings that surround you. This puts us in a place where we have hope for the future. .
- Reflect back on the problem that is causing you the stress. Allow yourself to think of the worst possible outcome and you will find that it is not that bad.
- Take action towards a solution. This moves you back in the driver’s seat and puts stress right out of the picture.
